Bedtime Poll

Postby tamara » Mon Oct 19, 2009 6:46 pm

:?: BeBe would stay up as late as he could if we let him though... :haha:

7:30pm is pretty standard though when I put them to bed.

Yeah, but BeBe and Dewey start screaming and calling the flock together so I have to send them to night-night.

We pretty much follow the sunset here. So right now it's 7:30 ish and will get earlier at the time change. In the summer it's closer to 8:30 ish.

I put whenever they want..Although I know that isn't suggested or encouraged. Its normally because I'm not available all the time, and I work 3:30-12 am, so whenever they decide to go to bed is when they do. There was one time where it was 12 am and they were wired(and I wasn't even home, until the 12 am part).
Usually I put them to bed 10 at the absolute latest, though, with the new job, I'm not sure what to do. So I'll let them choose.
Also, I usually let them choose because with my Eclectus, sometimes she wants to go to bed at 6pm, and others she doesn't want to go to bed till 10 or later, so I really do let her choose; because if I make her to go bed early...Be prepared to listen to her scream almost all night... :silly: :lovie:

Well mine go to sleep when they want to, they sleep with our lights on, afcourse we turn them off when we leave.
I work different times, so i cant always put them to sleep (and believe me Tijl wont even let me).
We just got Pino he still sleaps a lot, specially in my hand where its warm... :sunny:

When I got Archie, I didn't have all the stuff "toys and latters" for his cage till the next day (in which I went into a shopping frenzy), so for his nest I put an unused basket that I had bought from dollar tree and a clean sock, in which I put through the top of the cage, making a tent on top of the basket. The quick solution nest ended working out for the both of us. Ever since, everytime I put the sock on top of the basket, he just rushes in and goes underneath for night time, sometimes it seems like he is trying to help me out by grabbing one of the ends and pulling it as I'm trying to pass it through the bar.

Ps: In case anyone is wondering, I keep the basket poop-free by layering the basket with 6-8 clean papers, and in the mornings when Archie is out and about, I remove the first layer or two, but Archie is not very messy when it comes to his bed so it'll work out when I get him something warmer for the fall weather.

Oscar has two cages a day time cage and a night time cage, every night around 7:30 he climbs up to his night time cage and crawls into his little bed and peeks out waiting for me to cover him and take him to his quiet room, I find this so adorable that he does it at the same exact time every day! NOT 7:29 NOT 7:31 but 7:30... this also happens to be the time I take my kids upstairs for baths books and bed... he follows the routine!!! ADORABLE
